About Me

In 2004, I received a vague medical diagnosis called chronic myopathy. At the time, those words meant nothing to me. Little did I know, everything in my life was getting ready to change.

I have Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, and while this disease successfully attempts to introduce me to the floor on a daily basis, I have decided that I am not interested in settling down and committing to the floor or a wheelchair. Eventually, I might take a seat, but for today, I will not give up.

While my story is full of defeated moments, physical as well as emotional exhaustion and more often than not, fear, I have found that my strength comes from a refusal to give up and a tribe of amazing friends and family. Each person that I have met on my journey has made every challenge a little bit easier.  This website tells a story about learning to live, attempting to stay upright and desperately trying to defeat the odds despite an undeniable biological makeup.

This is my story.
